As Uganda’s oldest printing house, UPPC is advancing its mission to support the Vision 2040 agenda of transforming Uganda into a competitive, industrialized, and sustainable economy. With a revitalized leadership team and state-of-the-art technologies and machinery, UPPC has significantly increased operational capacity. Currently, with 35% digitized, the corporation aims to reach 80% digital transformation by 2027, ensuring more efficient and reliable services.
A cornerstone of UPPC’s success lies in its expertise in security printing, making it the trusted provider for high-security documents such as identity cards, certificates, tamper-proof materials, among others. This capability not only enhances authenticity but also minimizes reliance on costly foreign outsourcing. By keeping Uganda’s printing services local, UPPC has the potential to save Uganda up to USD 10 million annually, enabling funds to be reallocated to other critical development programs.
In line with its modernization efforts, UPPC recently launched a user-friendly online service portal (portal.uppc.go.ug), a milestone in its digital transformation journey. This platform streamlines access to statutory publications, enhances customer service, and expands UPPC’s reach nationwide.
The prestigious award demonstrates UPPC’s resilience, adaptability and commitment to quality. With strategic investments, innovation, and a focus on sustainability, UPPC remains a key partner in Uganda’s path towards Vision 2040, driving industrialization, reducing external dependencies, and promoting public sector efficiency.
