UPPC Takes the Uganda Gazette Closer to Communities

Uganda Printing and Publishing Corporation (UPPC) has embarked on a regional tour to sensitize communities about its mandate to publish the Uganda Gazette as well as offer general printing and publishing services.

The regional Gazette clinic started Monday 17th in the Eastern district of Iganga at the district headquarters before progressing to Mbale district at Mayor’s Garden on the following day Tuesday 18th August. The clinic attracted more than a hundred participants who turned up at each of the venues to learn about the Uganda Gazette.

The team from UPPC composed of professional communicators, legal officers and editors educated the community about the importance of Uganda Gazette, what is published in it, how a notice can be summited and how the Uganda Gazette can be accessed among other key issues.

The Gazette Clinic provided an opportunity for members of the public to interact directly with the UPPC team, ask questions and receive guidance on the various services offered by the Corporation.

The initiative is part of UPPC’s continued efforts to increase public awareness and accessibility of the Uganda Gazette across the country. Through the Clinic, participants were introduced to the role of the Uganda Gazette as an official channel through which government notices and other legally required information are published. The Uganda Gazette is a document of record in which legal notices are published in fulfillment of different provisions of the law depending on the notice.

Apart from the Uganda Gazette, UPPC educated the public about other of its offerings. UPPC was established as the official government security and general printery and government advisor on all printing and publishing needs. As a security printery, UPPC contributes to the larger fight against counterfeit products such as fake academic documents by partnering with academic institutions and producing for them documents with security features that make it almost impossible to duplicate.

UPPC also offers general printing and publishing services through it supports clients to have their books, magazine, journals and other documents published but also produce branding materials such as stationery, customized text books, and calender among others. UPPC is a fully government owned entity that does business with both government and private institutions and individuals, delivering quality, professional, timely, cost effective and secure services.

Entebbe UPPC FC Joins the Outreach

The Gazette clinic has also been graced with the participation of the Entebbe UPPC Football Club. Players of UPPC FM engaged with communities in Iganga mobilizing people to engage with the sport and motivating young ones to persue their dreams in the world of sport. The Uganda Gazette is the official sponsor of the UPPC Entebbe Football Club.

UPPC continues with the tour which shall cover more ground from the East to the North of the country and then the Central region and later Western region. Through initiatives such as the Gazette Clinic regional Tour, UPPC continues to strengthen stakeholder engagement and bring its services closer to the people. The journey continues across Eastern and Northern Uganda — taking the Uganda Gazette closer to you.
