UPPC Orients Newly Onboarded Regional Agents

The Uganda Printing and Publishing Corporation (UPPC) has oriented over 25 regional agents who will represent the entity in different areas of the country. The orientation training was attended by both old and new agents from Mbarara, Gulu, Lira, Jinja, Mbale, Masaka, among other centers in regions across Uganda. The training conducted at the UPPC head offices in Entebbe is part of UPPC’s ongoing effort to strengthen service delivery and expand access to the Corporation’s services across the country.
During the regional Agents Engagement Day, agents were equipped with practical skills in marketing and sales, customer service, knowledge of UPPC products and services and the production process. The training also covered lessons about the Uganda Gazette, brand reputation management, stakeholder relations and compliance standards, among others.
Addressing the agents, the Director Business Ms Rebecca Nyakairu urged them to uphold professionalism, integrity and accountability, describing them as ambassadors of the UPPC brand and the first point of contact for many customers. The Director emphasized the importance of delivering quality products and services on time, understanding customer needs, identifying emerging market opportunities and offering competitive rates that provide value while upholding the Corporation’s reputation.

“As representatives of UPPC, you are ambassadors of our brand. Let your performance reflect accountability, deliver quality products on time, understand the market, and always provide value through competitive rates,” Ms Nyakairu said.

The Sales Manager,  Mr Rogers Mawanda, called upon the agents to strengthen sales operations through effective marketing and customer engagements. He gave an overview of the agents’ responsibilities, including, sales operations, marketing strategies, customer relations, communication channels and the use of ICT.
The training further focused on strengthening customer relationships through proactive engagement, personalized service, regular feedback collection and seamless customer support. Participants were encouraged to build lasting relationships with clients by delivering responsive, customer centered services.
Agents were further equipped with effective communication skills across verbal, written, digital and non-verbal channels to enhance interactions with customers and ensure clear, professional communication while representing the Corporation.

The engagement forms part of UPPC’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its nationwide agents network by equipping agents with the knowledge and skills needed to promote effective service delivery, enhance customer satisfaction and increase access to the Corporation’s printing, publishing and Uganda Gazette services throughout Uganda. Having agents in different parts of the country allows customers to have easier and faster access to UPPC services not only because the agents operate from these communities but also because they speak key languages of their areas of operation, which allows them to interact with the people.
