UPPC Supports Maternal Health with Donation of 200 Mama Kits

Entebbe, 7 November 2026 —The Uganda Printing and Publishing Corporation (UPPC) joined NTV Uganda in celebrating its 20th anniversary through a series of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities in Entebbe, highlighted by the donation of 200 Mama Kits to expectant mothers at Entebbe General Referral Hospital.

The day’s activities kicked off at Kitooro Market with a community clean-up exercise, where UPPC staff joined their NTV counterparts to clean the trading environment. Armed with cleaning equipment and protective gear, the teams worked together to promote hygiene, public health and environmental sustainability.

The initiative reflected UPPC’s commitment to supporting cleaner, healthier communities and encouraging collective responsibility for the environments in which people live and work.

The Corporation’s contribution extended to Entebbe General Referral Hospital, where it donated 200 Mama Kits to expectant mothers as part of efforts to support maternal health and wellbeing. The team distributed the essential care packages in the maternity and labour wards before proceeding to visit children in the hospital’s pediatric ward.

Speaking on the Corporation’s participation, the Ag. Public and Corporate Affairs Manager, Marvin Mutenyo, said the initiative reflects UPPC’s belief that corporate responsibility should translate into tangible improvements in people’s lives.

“At UPPC, we believe that our impact should go beyond the printing and publishing services we provide. As an institution that serves the public, we recognize the importance of being part of initiatives that respond to community needs and improve people’s wellbeing. Our small contribution of 200 Mama Kits is a practical expression of this commitment, particularly in supporting expectant mothers during an important stage of their lives,” he said.

Beyond the community outreach activities, the celebrations also featured a football match between NTV Uganda and Entebbe Municipal Council, and a blood donation drive.

UPPC’s participation in the initiative highlights the Corporation’s commitment to sustainable community development, one of its strategic priorities. Such engagements also provide an opportunity to strengthen stakeholder relationships, build public trust and reinforce the Corporation’s identity as a socially responsible and people-centred institution.

As NTV celebrates two decades of broadcasting, UPPC congratulates the station on this milestone and reaffirms its commitment to partnerships that create meaningful and lasting impact in communities.
