UPPC Director Rebecca Nyakairu Wins Woman Executive Leader of the Year Award

Kampala, Uganda: Uganda Printing and Publishing Corporation (UPPC) Business Development Director Rebecca Nyakairu has been named Woman Executive Leader of the Year at the inaugural Women on Boards Awards Gala, recognising her leadership and contribution to corporate excellence.

Held at Sheraton Hotel Kampala, the event brought together corporate leaders, policymakers and advocates to celebrate women’s achievements and promote their representation in leadership and decision-making.

The awards highlighted the importance of board diversity, mentorship and inclusive governance. Keynote speaker Olive Lumonya encouraged professionals to prioritise impact when seeking board appointments, saying: “In the boardrooms, don’t look for boards that pay only. Look for boards that help you to create an impact and change in society.”

Guest of honour Fabian Kasi, Group CEO of Centenary Bank, emphasised the importance of mentoring women and preparing them for leadership roles in corporate governance and the public sector.
