Entebbe, Uganda: The Uganda Printing and Publishing Corporation (UPPC), the official Government Printer and publisher of the Uganda Gazette, has announced that the E-Gazette is now available to the public free of charge through the UPPC website.
The development is part of UPPC’s efforts to improve access to official government information, strengthen digital service delivery and make the Uganda Gazette more accessible to citizens, businesses and institutions.
The Uganda Gazette is the official government publication containing statutory instruments, legal notices, appointments, registrations and other official government communications.
Speaking about the development, UPPC Managing Director, Prof. Sudi Nangoli, said the initiative demonstrates the Corporation’s commitment to making official government information easier to access.
“Access to official government information is important for transparency, accountability and informed participation in national affairs. By making the E-Gazette freely accessible, we are removing a barrier and giving the public greater convenience in accessing information published through the official Government Gazette,” Prof. Nangoli said.
The initiative will benefit lawyers, researchers, journalists, government agencies, businesses, students, civil society organisations and members of the public who rely on the Gazette for official information.
The free E-Gazette service is part of UPPC’s broader digital transformation agenda, which seeks to digitise 80% of the Corporation’s products and systems by 2028, as outlined in its 2023–2028 Strategic Plan.
UPPC has invested in digitising the Uganda Gazette, including historical editions dating back to 1902, while developing digital platforms that enable convenient access to its products and services.
Making the E-Gazette free further advances this journey by removing cost and geographical barriers to accessing current official government publications.
