In conjunction with the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council, East Buganda Muslim Region and Entebbe Muslim district, UPPC on 21st April celebrated Eid-El-Fitr at the Muslim grounds in Entebbe.
The corporation applied values and charity practices of the Islamic faith by making a contribution to Eid celebrations. This was mainly to congratulate the Muslim community stakeholders including staff upon the successful completion of Ramathan.
The activity that brought together about 2000 people accorded the UPPC participating team a speaking opportunity to the congregation. The team that was headed by the Public and Corporate Affairs Manager; Ms. Rebecca Nyakairu created awareness about the UPPC mandate and commitment to working with all communities to deliver.
‘’…… we are very thrilled to be fully part of this momentous event to celebrate Eid.El.Fitr. At UPPC we take pride in being part of all community initiatives that advocate for values that promote the well being and growth of all people. We believe the teachings of Ramathan shall stay with our brethren and shall be a lesson to the rest of us as we grow and impact on the development of our Country’’ Ms. Nyakairu said.
The corporation contributed food and drinks to support the successful preparation of the day’s celebrations. It was an avenue for UPPC to network with the local leaders of the community and the Muslim leadership towards unlocking our potential in the printing and publishing industry within the established relations.
UPPC encourages and engages in both regular and seasonal contributions as means to extend support to all religious faiths’ initiatives. We appreciate the organizing committee of the communal Eid celebrations and we continue to pledge our commitment to enhance such engagements that bring together all people for a common good and meaningful collaborations.
